Creating optimal supplement plans starts with gathering clinical context. With Fullscript, you now get one source of truth for your patients’ entire supplement routines, including ingredients they’re consuming — down to the exact product.
What’s new
The ‘current supplements’ feature makes it easier to tailor your plans based on what a patient is currently taking to increase plan adherence. You can add or reduce the number of products in a plan based on their daily ingredients summary, to ensure they aren’t deficient or overdosing on certain ingredients.
Having the right clinical context ensures plans are not only safe, but effective. Patients can share products that aren’t available on Fullscript, so you can swap products with lower quality ingredients for products that help patients achieve better outcomes, while saving them money in the long-run.
Here’s how it works:
- Request current supplements: Invite patients to share their current supplements before an initial or follow-up appointment. Patients can manage their plan anytime by adding, removing, or archiving products.
- Patients share what they’re taking: Patients can easily upload supplements to Fullscript by searching from a database of over 80,000 products, or by scanning the barcode on the product label using the Fullscript iOS mobile app.
- Analyze and action your new insights: Take a closer look at the supplements and ingredients your patients consume in an easy-to-read summary, available in the patient profile, and while creating or reviewing a plan.
- You and your patient can manage their plan together: patients can add, remove, or archive products at any time.
Why did we build this?
We heard that practitioners often struggle to collect detailed information about the supplements and ingredients their patients are taking. This usually entails manually checking labels on products that patients bring to appointments, or interpreting sometimes incomplete entries on intake forms.
That’s despite 58% of US adults (1) (and 80% of patients who use Fullscript)(2) reporting regular supplement use. Many people assume these supplements are safe, since they’re available without a prescription. However, taking supplements without guidance or expertise around quality can produce lackluster results, or worse, adverse effects.
This presents a problem; practitioners need to understand the ingredients patients are consuming on a daily basis through their supplement routine, so they can make informed decisions about the best possible plan for that patient. That’s why Fullscript offers an efficient way for patients to share and manage their current supplements, while giving practitioners detailed ingredient data.
This release helps practitioners:
- Get an accurate and complete breakdown of the ingredients their patients are currently taking.
- Monitor, tweak, and optimize supplement plans, with greater visibility into the supplements patients are taking – all in one place.
- Save time collecting the context needed to create optimal supplement plans.
- Create safer, more effective plans, with visibility into supplements their patients are taking that aren’t available on Fullscript.
- Engage patients by making it easy to share and manage supplement plans, including using the convenient barcode scanner feature available on the Fullscript iOS mobile app for patients.
The bottom line
Collect details on all of the supplements your patients are currently taking — regardless if they’re available on Fullscript — in one source of truth, so you can save time creating supplement plans that lead to better health outcomes; all while keeping patients engaged with managing their entire supplement routine in one convenient place.
